    NEPSE Drops Over 30 Points, Turnover Reaches Rs. 7.46 Billion

    Nepal’s stock market extended its losing streak on Monday, with the NEPSE index falling 30.60 points amid broad-based selling, while daily turnover stood at Rs. 7.46 billion.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 30.60 points (1.17%) on Monday to close at 2,570.18, extending losses after a marginal decline in the previous trading session. The benchmark index opened at 2,599.66, touched an intraday high of 2,607.04, and slipped to a low of 2,566.27 before settling lower at the close. Daily turnover reached Rs. 7.46 billion, with more than 41.72 million shares of 368 listed companies traded through 51,295 transactions. The market's total capitalization stood at Rs. 44.16 trillion, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 14.91 trillion. NMB Debenture 8.50%–2087/88 (NMBD87/88) emerged as the day's most actively traded security, recording a turnover of Rs. 484.6 million and closing at Rs. 1,135 per unit. On the gainers' list, Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL) posted the highest increase of 5.37%, closing at Rs. 1,197, while Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) recorded the steepest decline, dropping 11.28% to Rs. 2,839. Sector-wise, the Trading Index suffered the biggest loss of 2.30%, whereas the Banking Sub-Index recorded the smallest decline, slipping 0.68%.
