Over 2,000 Vehicles Penalized for Traffic Violations in Kathmandu Valley
Traffic police fined 2,076 vehicles in the Kathmandu Valley over the past 24 hours, collecting nearly Rs 2 million in revenue.
A total of 2,076 vehicles were penalized for violating traffic rules across the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours, according to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office. Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Naresh Prasad Subedi said the violations included 68 cases of drunk driving, 129 cases of unauthorized ride-sharing, 126 traffic light violations, and 189 speeding offenses. In addition, 139 drivers were fined for breaching lane discipline, 124 for unnecessary honking in restricted areas, 85 for illegal parking on pavements, and 59 for driving against one-way traffic regulations. Another 1,157 motorists faced action for various other traffic offenses. The traffic police collected Rs 1.97 million in revenue through the enforcement campaign.
