How opening price range is determined?

Nepal stock exchange (NEPSE) determines the opening price range of new stock based on the book value of company. For example, if book value of the company’s latest audited report is 100 then the opening price range will be 100 – 300. The minimum price should be same as book value and maximum price will be book value x 3.

About IPO

Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited (UHKHPC) issued 15,00,000 units worth Rs. 15 crore as Initial Public Offering to the general public from Ashad 24, 2079 to Shrawan 06, 2079. Out of total offered 15,00,000 units; 2% i.e. 30,000 units have been set aside for the employees and 5% of the total offered shares to the general public i.e. 75,000 units have been set aside for the mutual funds. The remaining 13,95,000 units are for the general public.

NMB Capital Limited is the issue manager for the IPO issuance.10% of the capital is already issued and allotted to the locals  of Sankhuwasabha district, whereas, 30% is allocated for the general public. The company has been assigned the rating – ‘CARE-NP BB (Is)’.

About the Upper Hewakhola Project

Upper Hewa Khola Hydropower project is a run-of-river type project situated in Sankhuwasava district. Just upstream of existing & operational Hewa Khola Small Hydropower Project, 4.5MW which is completed by Barun Hydropower Company Ltd. The same developers are going to construct this project with an installed capacity of 8.5 MW with 236.2 m net head and 4.2 m3/sec design discharge at Q40%. The catchment area is 66km2 including two collection streams Jhutre and Khakuwa Khola.
