The Ministry of Finance has released Rs. 3.3 million (33 lakh) to support the reopening of the Hetauda Textile Mill, following a recommendation from the Ministry of Industry. The state-owned factory is being prepared for revival under the management of the Nepali Army, with the first phase of operations focused on producing military uniforms and other textile products required by the army. The initiative is being coordinated with the support of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, which has been leading discussions on reviving the long-idle factory. According to government sources, the Nepali Army is prepared to invest around Rs. 2 billion if the project moves ahead as planned. The funding is part of the government's broader effort to revive financially troubled state-owned enterprises and restore their productive capacity.
