NEPSE Drops 10.67 Points to 2,618.72 as Turnover Stands at Rs. 4.16 Arba
Nepal’s benchmark NEPSE index declined by 10.67 points (0.40%) on Thursday, reversing the previous session’s 7.17-point gain. Turnover stood at Rs. 4.16 Arba, with more than 10 million shares changing hands.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a double-digit decline on Thursday, falling 10.67 points, or 0.40%, to close at 2,618.72. The decline came after the benchmark index gained 7.17 points in the previous trading session. The index opened at 2,626.07 and moved between an intraday high of 2,631.28 and a low of 2,614.04 before settling at 2,618.72. Total market turnover stood at Rs. 4.16 Arba, with 10,022,765 shares traded across 344 listed companies through 59,805 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 45.04 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 15.25 Kharba.
Top Performers Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 50.65 crore. Its share price closed at Rs. 2,775. Sarvottam Paints Industries Limited (SAPIL) emerged as the top gainer, hitting the upper circuit with a 14.99% gain to close at Rs. 797.60. On the losing side, Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (DLBS) recorded the highest decline, falling 5.26% to close at Rs. 1,027.
Sectoral Performance Among the sectoral indices, the Mutual Fund Index posted the highest gain, rising 0.03%. Meanwhile, the Others Index recorded the steepest decline, falling 1.06%.
