The price of gold in Nepal increased by NPR 3,800 per tola over the past week, reaching nearly NPR 300,000 despite significant mid-week fluctuations.
The price of gold has increased by NPR 3,800 per tola over the past week. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, gold was trading at NPR 296,100 per tola last Friday but rose to NPR 299,900 per tola by the end of this week.
The week was marked by significant volatility. On Sunday, the price dropped by NPR 1,000, followed by a further decline of NPR 300 on Monday. The downward trend continued on Tuesday with a sharp drop of NPR 3,800, bringing the price down to NPR 291,000. However, the market saw a massive recovery on Wednesday, with the price jumping by NPR 5,800 in a single day to reach NPR 296,800.
On Thursday, the price increased by another NPR 1,800 to NPR 298,600 and remained stable for a period before rising again on Friday. On the final day of the trading week, the price went up by NPR 2,300, closing at NPR 299,900 per tola. Despite the heavy fluctuations seen throughout the week, the overall trend resulted in a significant net gain for the precious metal.
