Q4 Update: Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life’s Profit Edges Up to Rs. 37.55 Crore

Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Limited (PMLI) has published its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter of FY 2082/83, reporting a marginal 1.31% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs. 37.55 crore, compared to Rs. 37.07 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The insurer’s net earned premium increased by 20.97%, while total income grew 13.63% during the review period. However, total claims paid and total expenses also increased by 14.21% and 14.36%, respectively. Despite the rise in net profit, the company’s EPS declined by Rs. 0.19 to Rs. 7.08. As of the end of Ashadh, its net worth per share stood at Rs. 116.58, while the P/E ratio was recorded at 61.20x. The company has a paid-up capital of Rs. 5.31 Arba, along with Rs. 1.93 crore in share premium, Rs. 14.85 crore in catastrophe reserve, Rs. 42.82 crore in retained earnings, and Rs. 28.37 crore in other equity.
