    NEPSE Extends Losses, Drops 16.29 Points as Selling Pressure Persists

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined for a second straight session on Thursday, with the benchmark index falling 16.29 points amid continued selling pressure despite a turnover exceeding Rs. 3.38 billion.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its losing streak on Thursday, declining by 16.29 points (0.60%) to close at 2,672.58, following a 7.79-point loss in the previous trading session. The benchmark index opened at 2,661.13 and traded between an intraday high of 2,695.86 and a low of 2,657.63 before settling lower. Daily turnover stood at Rs. 3.38 billion, with 7.55 million shares of 337 listed companies traded through 44,651 transactions. The market's total capitalization reached Rs. 45.93 trillion, while float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.51 trillion. Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) emerged as the day's most actively traded stock with a turnover of Rs. 24.38 crore, closing at Rs. 3,024 per share. Everest Colour Limited (ECL) topped the gainers' chart with a 15% increase, while Kalinchock Hydropower Limited (KHPL) was the biggest loser, dropping 14.99% to close at Rs. 902. Among sectoral indices, the Hydropower Index recorded the steepest decline, falling 1.20%, whereas the Finance Index posted the smallest loss of 0.13%, reflecting relatively resilient performance compared to other sectors.
