Meteorologists have urged farmers across Nepal to delay paddy harvesting and storage until after Kartik 15 due to the risk of rainfall associated with Cyclone Arnab, which has intensified over the Bay of Bengal. Meteorologist Ujjwal Upadhyay of Kathmandu University has advised farmers to avoid harvesting from Wednesday and take necessary precautions to protect their crops. Agricultural development offices in several districts have also recommended checking weather forecasts before beginning harvesting activities. Nepal’s Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of cloudy conditions and possible rainfall across the country, urging people in Kathmandu Valley and Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces to remain cautious until Saturday. Meanwhile, India’s weather authorities have reported that the cyclone is moving towards the Andhra Pradesh coast, with heavy rainfall and strong winds expected in coastal areas. Wind speeds could reach 115–125 kilometres per hour, prompting red alerts for coastal Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha.
