NEPSE Climbs 8.81 Points, Turnover Reaches Rs. 3.72 Arba
The NEPSE index gained 8.81 points to close at 2,651.21 on Thursday, while market turnover stood at Rs. 3.72 Arba as investor activity remained steady.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its upward movement on Thursday, gaining 8.81 points (0.33%) to close at 2,651.21, following a marginal gain of 0.55 points in the previous session. The benchmark index opened at 2,642.65 and moved between an intraday high of 2,656.54 and a low of 2,636.93 before settling at the closing level. Total turnover reached Rs. 3.72 Arba, with 10,225,874 shares traded across 347 companies through 45,822 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 45.59 Kharba, while float market capitalization amounted to Rs. 15.40 Kharba. Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 29.98 crore, closing at Rs. 256.70 per share. Meanwhile, Sarvottam Paints Industries Limited (SAPIL) and Mount Everest Power Development Limited (MEPDL) both hit the upper circuit, gaining 15% each. On the downside, 10.25% Prabhu Bank Debenture 2086 (PBLD86) posted the highest decline, falling 10.45% to close at Rs. 1,131. Among sectoral indices, the Manufacturing and Processing Index recorded the highest gain of 0.57%, while the Investment Index posted the steepest decline, falling 0.49%. Overall, the market ended higher with gains supported by selected stocks and continued trading activity.
