Kalanki–Basundhara Ring Road Set for Major Safety Upgrade
Two companies have been selected to install road safety infrastructure, including steel railings, traffic signs, lane markings, and zebra crossings along the Kalanki–Basundhara section.
The Ring Road Improvement Project has issued letters of intent to select two companies for road safety works on the Kalanki–Basundhara section of the Ring Road. Kathmandu-based Concept Architect and Design Pvt. Ltd. has been selected to install steel railings and traffic signs at a proposed cost of Rs. 1.42 crore, excluding VAT and contingency. Similarly, Ocean Construction Pvt. Ltd. of Bhaktapur has been selected to carry out road markings, including lanes, zebra crossings, and other safety signs using thermoplastic paint, at a quoted cost of Rs. 62.28 lakh, excluding VAT and contingency. The Project Office, Babar Mahal, said the companies were selected after evaluating online bids submitted under the Public Procurement Act, 2063, with the lowest substantially responsive bids within the approved cost estimates being accepted.
