Gas Shortage Reported in Tanahun as Administration Steps Up Supply Coordination

The District Administration Office, Tanahun, has stepped up efforts to address a shortage of cooking gas reported in different parts of the district by directly coordinating with concerned gas industries and government agencies to increase supplies. Chief District Officer Shivlal Tiwari said the administration contacted a gas industry in Chitwan after receiving reports of shortages in Devghat and urged it to immediately increase supplies to Tanahun. Similar concerns were reported from the Damai area, where three gas dealers informed the administration about supply difficulties, prompting the CDO to coordinate with the concerned industry to boost distribution. According to Tiwari, an imbalance between demand and supply has resulted in shortages in some areas, requiring coordination at both local and federal levels. The administration has also informed the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies about the shortage, supply challenges faced by dealers, and difficulties experienced by consumers, while requesting necessary measures to improve the situation. As LPG is an essential commodity directly linked to daily household needs, the administration said it would continue coordinating with relevant stakeholders to maintain a regular and smooth supply. It has also announced plans to strengthen market monitoring to prevent artificial shortages, hoarding, and black-market activities, emphasizing effective coordination among gas industries, dealers, and government authorities to resolve supply-related problems.
