Prime Minister’s Relief Fund Balance Reaches NRS 13.54 Billion

Financial contributions to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund continue to grow, with the fund’s balance reaching NRS 13.5409 billion as of 9 a.m. today, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. The office stated that NRS 282.014 million was added to the fund after 5 p.m. on Bhadra 26, reflecting the continued flow of contributions toward disaster relief efforts. The accumulated amount is held across nine different banks where the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund maintains accounts. The government has already released NRS 1 billion from the fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) for flood-affected people. The fund’s US dollar accounts at two banks have also continued to receive contributions. Since 5 p.m. on Bhadra 26, an additional USD 154,770 was deposited, bringing the total balance in the dollar accounts to USD 23.438847 million. The continued increase in contributions is expected to support ongoing relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by recent floods and other disasters.
