    NRB to Absorb NRS 55 Billion from Banking System

    Nepal Rastra Bank is set to collect NRS 55 billion in deposits for 60 days to manage excess liquidity and help stabilize interest rates.

    NRB to Absorb NRS 55 Billion from Banking System

    Nepal Rastra Bank has invited bids to collect NRS 55 billion through a 60-day deposit collection instrument. Only Class ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ licensed banks and financial institutions can participate in the auction, with the interest rate determined through competitive bidding. The principal and interest will be paid on November 4, 2026 (Kartik 18, 2083). The instrument can also be used as collateral by banks and financial institutions.
