PM Disaster Relief Fund Gains Rs 22.75 Crore in a Day, Total Balance Reaches Rs 14.56 Billion

The Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund has received an additional Rs 22.75 crore over the past 24 hours, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. As of Thursday evening, the balance held in the fund’s nine bank accounts had reached Rs 10.8966 billion, an increase of Rs 227.54 million compared to Wednesday. In addition, the fund has USD 23.93 million deposited across two dollar-denominated accounts. Including all accounts, the fund’s total balance stands at approximately Rs 14.56 billion. The government has already released Rs 1 billion from the fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) to support people affected by the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa. The government has also recently decided to provide monthly financial assistance to flood-affected families in Rasuwa to help cover house rent and other essential expenses. Families with up to four members will receive Rs 15,000 per month, while an additional Rs 2,000 per month will be provided for each additional family member.
