    Grid Company Begins Approval Process for 2,500 MW West Seti Transmission Line

    The National Transmission Grid Company Limited has initiated the approval process for the 400kV Bajhang–Banlek (West Seti) transmission line, a major project designed to evacuate up to 2,500 MW of electricity from western Nepal.

    Grid Company Begins Approval Process for 2,500 MW West Seti Transmission Line

    The National Transmission Grid Company Limited (NTGCL) has begun the process to construct the 400kV Bajhang–Banlek (West Seti) transmission line, a key electricity infrastructure project with a transmission capacity of 2,500 megawatts (MW). The proposed 60-kilometre transmission line will extend from the Chainpur Substation in Bajhang District to Banlek in Shikhar Municipality–10, Doti District. As part of the approval process, the company has submitted an application to the Department of Electricity Development (DoED) for construction permission in accordance with Clause (4) of the Electricity Act, 2049. The project is expected to be completed within five years from the date construction begins. The Department of Electricity Development has also issued a public notice inviting feedback, comments, and suggestions from stakeholders and the general public regarding the proposed transmission line before granting the necessary approval.
