New Track Construction Begins on Flood-Damaged Prithvi Highway

Construction of a new road track has begun at Krishnabhir in Dhading after severe flooding in the Trishuli River caused a major section of the Prithvi Highway to collapse. The devastating flood on Bhadra 10 and subsequent river surges severely eroded the highway, completely disrupting road connectivity and halting transportation along the affected section. With regular traffic unable to operate, the Department of Roads and other concerned agencies have accelerated efforts to establish an alternative route and reconnect the highway. The new track is expected to restore transportation connectivity and ease the movement of people and essential supplies in the affected region. The damage comes amid a broader disaster that has caused extensive loss of life and infrastructure across several districts.
