Nabil Bank Launches Virtual Credit Card, Customers Can Apply Through nBank App

Nabil Bank Limited has launched its Nabil Virtual Credit Card, introducing a new digital banking service that enables eligible customers to access credit card facilities directly through the bank’s nBank App. The service, launched on October 15, 2026, aims to make credit more accessible by simplifying the application process and allowing customers to complete the process digitally without visiting a bank branch or submitting traditional paperwork. Under the new service, pre-approved customers can apply for a virtual credit card by selecting the “Apply Now” option within the nBank App. The digital facility is designed to provide a faster, more convenient and secure way for eligible customers to access credit and make payments. The virtual credit card also supports QR-based payments through Fonepay Merchant QR, enabling customers to make payments across participating merchants using the digital payment network. The integration is expected to improve convenience for customers who prefer cashless transactions and use mobile banking for their everyday purchases. To facilitate the service, Nabil Bank and Fonepay Payment Service Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to support seamless transactions through Fonepay’s merchant QR network and strengthen the integration of digital credit facilities with Nepal’s growing digital payment ecosystem. The launch represents another step in Nabil Bank’s broader digital transformation strategy, which focuses on developing technology-driven banking services and improving the overall customer experience. By introducing a fully digital credit card application process, the bank aims to reduce procedural barriers and provide eligible customers with easier access to credit facilities. The initiative also reflects the growing adoption of digital banking and QR-based payments in Nepal, as financial institutions continue to introduce services that prioritize convenience, accessibility and cashless transactions. With the Nabil Virtual Credit Card, eligible customers can access a digital credit facility through the nBank App and make QR payments through Fonepay’s merchant network, bringing credit access and everyday payments into a more streamlined digital experience.
