MARKET REBOUND! NEPSE Jumps 27.94 Points to 2,559.49
Nepal’s benchmark NEPSE index rebounded strongly on Thursday, gaining 27.94 points (1.10%) to close at 2,559.49, following a 13.85-point decline in the previous session.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) staged a strong recovery today, with the benchmark index climbing 27.94 points, or 1.10%, to close at 2,559.49. The gain comes after NEPSE dropped 13.85 points in the previous trading session. The index opened at 2,529.78 and moved between an intraday high of 2,559.49 and a low of 2,524.55 before ending at the day’s high. Trading activity remained strong, with total turnover reaching NRS 4.36 billion. A total of 12,089,709 shares were traded through 49,006 transactions involving 345 listed companies. The total market capitalization increased to NRS 44.02 trillion, while the float market capitalization stood at NRS 14.85 trillion. Among individual stocks, Liberty Energy Company Limited (LEC) topped the turnover chart with transactions worth NRS 366.6 million, closing at NRS 252.20 per share. Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) emerged as the day’s top gainer, rising 10.53% to close at NRS 2,763.30. Meanwhile, Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) recorded the biggest decline, falling 5.71% to NRS 537.00. Sector-wise, the Hydropower Index led the market with a gain of 1.83%. The Others Index was the weakest performer, declining 0.42%.
