Pokhara–Dubai Flights Resume: Flydubai Begins Regular International Service Today

Flydubai is starting regular flights on the Dubai–Pokhara–Dubai route from today, providing a new international air connection from Pokhara International Airport. The airport, which began operations on January 1, 2023 (Poush 17, 2079), had not been able to maintain regular international flights despite preparations for international operations. According to Airport General Manager Jagannath Niraula, all necessary infrastructure and operational arrangements for international flights have now been completed. The Flydubai aircraft is scheduled to land in Pokhara at 6:15 PM and depart for Dubai at 7:15 PM with passengers. The aircraft will receive a ceremonial water salute upon arrival at the airport. Airport authorities said that all services required for international passengers, including immigration, customs and cargo handling, are ready. Customs officials have also completed preparations for revenue collection, passenger clearance, facilitation of legitimate trade, and import-export procedures. Pokhara Tourism Council's former chairman Pomanarayan Shrestha expressed hope that the Pokhara–Dubai service will operate regularly over the long term. Dubai is a major global aviation transit hub, while Flydubai operates flights to more than 120 destinations, potentially providing passengers from Pokhara with wider international connectivity.
