NRB Calls Global Tender for Minting 300 Million Rs. 2 Coins
Nepal Rastra Bank has invited a global tender for the design, minting, and delivery of 300 million Rs. 2 circulation coins from pre-qualified international security minting companies.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), through its Currency Management Department, has invited sealed bids from pre-qualified international security minting companies for the design, minting, and delivery of 300 million Rs. 2 denomination coins. The tender will be conducted under the Single Stage Two Envelope method, requiring bidders to submit technical and financial proposals separately. The deadline for purchasing tender documents is November 3, 2026, while bids must be submitted by 12:00 PM on November 4, 2026, and will be opened at 1:00 PM the same day. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for October 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM at NRB’s Currency Management Department in Thapathali. Bidders must also provide a minimum USD 132,000 bid security, valid until April 3, 2027. Blacklisted individuals or entities and companies involving their directors will not be eligible to participate in the tender process.
