PM Shah Meets Nepali Congress Leaders Ahead of UN General Assembly Visit

Prime Minister Balendra Shah met with leaders of the main opposition Nepali Congress at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Monday. The meeting was held at Prime Minister Shah's invitation ahead of his departure for the United States to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishmaraj Angdembe and party leader Bishwaprakash Sharma attended the meeting. The discussions took place ahead of Prime Minister Shah's scheduled departure for New York on Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, the Congress delegation also presented recommendations related to Nepal's climate challenges and the impact of the Bhote Koshi disaster ahead of the Prime Minister's UN visit. Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to address the General Debate of the UN General Assembly on September 24, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
