Parliamentary Finance Committee Directs Immediate Reforms to Address Nepal’s Capital Market Issues
The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives has directed the government, Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), and Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) to take immediate steps to resolve legal, structural, technological, and regulatory issues in the capital market.
The Finance Committee has directed the government, SEBON, and NEPSE to accelerate capital market reforms. Key directives include introducing a new Securities Bill, stricter IPO screening, reviewing founder-share rules, upgrading NEPSE’s trading and data systems, strengthening cybersecurity, controlling market manipulation, and filling the vacant CEO positions at NEPSE and CDSC.
