Driving License Printing Begins Under New EDLVRSS System

The government has started printing driving licenses through the Electronic Driving License and Vehicle Registration System (EDLVRSS) from Shrawan 1 to make license printing and distribution faster and more efficient.

Driving License Printing Begins Under New EDLVRSS System

The Department of Transport Management under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has started printing driving licenses through the newly implemented EDLVRSS to address service pressure and the long-standing backlog in license printing. Under the new system, details uploaded by transport offices will be sent directly to the Security Printing, where licenses will be printed and dispatched by post to the concerned Transport Management Service Offices for distribution. The system is expected to make both new license issuance and renewal services faster and more convenient. In the first phase, 3,081 driving licenses from Madhesh Province have been printed and sent to the respective offices. Provincial governments can print licenses by contracting directly with Security Printing. Madhesh Province has already entered into such an agreement, while Lumbini Province also signed an agreement on Friday and has started printing licenses. For provinces that have not yet contracted with Security Printing, license printing will be coordinated between the Department of Transport Management and Security Printing. The ministry said the new system will help manage printing responsibilities province-wise and ensure that driving licenses reach service recipients more easily, quickly, and on time.
